STARE JABŁONKI - Ostróda parish; Olsztyn province. This village lies on the railway and motorway route between Olsztyn
and Ostróda, not far away from Lakes Szeląg Wielki and Szeląg Mały. These Lakes are connected by joining streams to Lake Drwęcki on whose banks Ostróda lies. From here through the Elbląg Canal into the Lake regions of Iława and Powiśla. There are huge forested complexes in the vicinity.After the the Second World War Stare Jabłonki became a well known tourist centre.The following facilities are all to be found here: Post Office, Medical clinic, forrestry commission, primary school, shops, PTTK Marina, Campsites, hotel, Company recreation centres as well as the parish Church built between 1959 - 1961 together with the catechism house ( the Sunday-School building ).
The „Elemis" centre consists of camping huts suitable for 4 to 6 people, each with bathroom, TV-sat, radio and refrigerator. Facilities include: Children's play area, parking, table tennis, enclosed swimming area with private beach, various water sports ( boats, sail boats, canoes and water cycles), restaurant and bar. It is also possible to arrange horse riding.
